Ageing furnace for aluminium extrusions
The ageing furnace is a tunnel kiln with an automatic loading of the material in baskets or trays moved by catenaries.
The maximum operating temperature is 250 ° C which can be reached through heating ramps made by means of customizable gradients suitable for the type of treatment to be carried out, in compliance with the required performances.
The heating usually takes place by means of cold air burners in radiant tubes, but can also be achieved by means of electric drawer resistances.
The recirculation of the internal atmosphere is forced by the use of a centrifugal fan placed on the roof of the furnace.
To achieve the circulation of the internal atmosphere, the doors are suitably sized and equipped with deflectors.
The insulating lining provided is specifically designed to ensure optimal performances of the furnace and it’s made of materials suitable for the operating temperature and the required process characteristics.
Peculiarity of the ageing furnace
A peculiarity of these systems is the realization of a recirculation inside the chamber in the longitudinal direction, that is, along the direction that connects the door and the bottom wall of the furnace, by means of a suitable recirculation fan.
This solution allows to obtain excellent results of uniformity of heating on any geometry of the piece to be treated, making the entire heating process more efficient.
In addition to the tunnel version, this type of system can also be created in the mobile hood version.
In this application the recirculation is always of the longitudinal type and regulated by a series of flow conveyors placed on the bottom walls.
In addition, it is possible to install a particular system of movable bulkheads in correspondence with the recirculation fan to reverse the flows and thus optimize the temperature uniformity.
The lifting of the hood is typically carried out by means of hoists.
Automation guarantees control of the entire process, interfacing with the company supervisor.
This type of system is designed and built to comply with the regulatory standards and the class of belonging of the furnace that the Customer requires (AMS – NADCAP).
